Dr.Harcharan Gill a visiting doctor from Stanford California visited the department of surgery and gave a lecture to Urology Thematic unit about Clinically localized prostate cancer.

Neurosurgery thematic unit successfully completes Mmed examinations which started with MCQ's on 13th and 14th June then clinical examinations followed from 20th June to 23 June.

Dr. Ezekiel Oburu, a lecturer in Orthopedic unit organized a 5 day Foot and Ankle workshop and surgical camp at Metropolitan hospital.

This was attended by staff, registrars and orthopedic surgeons from across the country.

Dr Mukesh Sharma -Interventional Neurologist from Apollo Hospitals Ahmedabad visited The Department of surgery. With him is Chairman of the department who is also a neurosurgeon and neurosugery students.

DR. Francis.O.Osawa a Senior Lecturer and Paediatric Surgeon oversees Mmed resident Dr.Said Sh Mohammed operating on a child with Anorectal malformations (ARM) assisted by Dr.Hetal Gohil (Mmed resident) and Dr.Irene Mutua  during ARM workshop.

The workshop was held in two operating theatre simultaneously from 23rd may to 26th may which led to more than 24 children undergoing surgery

 Anorectal malformations (ARM) are birth defects in which the anus and rectum (the lower end of the digestive tract) don’t develop properly.

PROF P.Mungai Ngugi donates laptop to the department, the laptop was received by the Department administrator Dr Ogoro E Boyani
