Prof Khainga took his undergraduate training at University of Nairobi and later in the in the same college he took general surgery. He become the pioneer of plastic surgery unit in the department of surgery.
Dr. Michael Magoha was among the guests who were invited to address newly admitted medical students during the white coat ceremony that was hosted by the Association for Medical Students University of Nairobi (AMSUN).
He advised the students to work hard in their studies and always aim higher.
Thematic unit head and faculty led by acting chair Dr.Ojuka welcomed Mmed year one academic year 2023/2024 in the department of surgery on 5th October 2023, the event held in the surgery boardroom where various speakers in their speech welcomed and advised the young surgeons to be. The students later had the opportunity to meet with their specific Thematic head and faculty.
Dr Magoha provides Neurosurgery resident finalists with DVDs of Endodcopic Upper brain approaches, endoscopic skull base approaches and endoscopic spine approaches. Donated via partnership with Karl Storz. The neurosurgery thematic unit is keen on keeping residents upto date.

Having just concluded a four days surgical collaboration at KNH in which a total of 47 surgeries were performed (33AV Fistulas, 13AV graft and one open heart surgery).
A team headed by Dr. Ferdinand Nangole (plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic thematic unit head) does another successful hand re-implantation surgery at KNH of a young boy presented with less than 24-hour history of having been cut by a chaffcutter.
The final year MBChB clinical examinations were held at University of Nairobi (UoN) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) from 28th June to 7th July 2023 during which time 272 students were examined
