Department of surgery occupies 2nd and 3rd floors which consist of offices and a seminar room. 

The practical part of learning of the department is mainly in KNH theatres, clinics and wards.

The Health Science has two libraries, Medical Library which is situated at Kenyatta National Hospital along Ngong Road and Dental Sciences Library in the Department of Dental Sciences along Argwings Kodhek Road opposite the Nairobi Hospital. The Library provides services to both undergraduate and post graduate medical students as well as staff members at the Health services. The services include lending of library books and facilitating the use of e-resources.

The Department of Surgery has state of the art teaching facilities meant to equip learners with all the necessary skills required in this field.
