Department of Surgery plastic surgery unit in collaboration with Platinum Surgery Center organized CLITORAL RESTORATIVE SURGERY CHARITY CAMP to restore back dignity to girls and women who underwent FGM. During the camp about 50 ladies benefited.
The camp was held from 14th to 18th Nov in Platinum Surgery Center led by Dr.Abullahi Adan and Dr.Marci Bower. Plastic surgery Mmed students followed the procedures through live transmission
This is a surgery to correct back deformities in children and young adults. Team from department in conjunction with KNH team, Kenya Orthopedics Association and Prof. Alaa from Palestine Polytechnic University perform surgeries from 28th Nov to 2nd Dec.

Dr Francis Osawa UoN's Paediatric Surgery Thematic Unit Head said that paediatric laparoscopic surgery is now being performed in Nairobi and he further said that the workshop was organized because of increasing demand for the service. The target group was mainly UoN Paediatric Surgery Residents and the facilitator was Professor Ashwin Praful Pimpalwar from Madison Marshfield Children's Hospital and University of Wisconsin in USA.
