Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

This unit offers a masters degree course in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (MMed-TCVS) of The University of Nairobi (UoN). This is a five-year programme offered at UoN's Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) campus and also at accredited external rotation sites.

The objective of the course is to produce qualified surgeons with the knowledge, skills and attitudes which shall enable them to function effectively as TCV surgeons.

The MMed-TCVS course is also designed and geared towards production of surgeons with the necessary skills to cope with the global challenges of modern-day surgical practice.

Overview

The unit's philosophy is that teaching shall be based on adult learning principles inclined towards realizing the needs of the learner in a learner-centred approach.

The overall goal is to produce competent, autonomous, ethical and outstanding Thoracic and Cardiovacular Surgeons who serve the communities they attend to with passion and purpose.
