Location / Venue:

The Kenyatta National Hospital in partnership with the University of Nairobi and the Kenya Association of Pediatric Surgeons organized a surgical workshop on ARM (Anorectal Malformations). The main purpose is to raise awareness about these conditions, to develop capacity of its members and to champion excellence in the field of pediatric surgery.

ARM (Anorectal Malformations) are birth defects where the rectum and anus do not develop properly during pregnancy. This means that children with anorectal malformations have difficulty in passing stool and require surgery to correct the birth defect.

The objective of this conference is to promote comprehensive care in children born with ARM. This is done under the umbrella of Kenya association of pediatric surgeons in conjunction with KNH,  UoN department of surgery, Moi university and cpgh.

This year the conference was held at Kenyatta National Hospital on the 15th to 18th of July and thereafter a symposium at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi on the 19th of July 2019
