From May 25 to 29, 2026, undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Nairobi participated in an intensive, week-long instructional program. The curriculum was facilitated by Rens Leeuw and Arjan Bosman on behalf of Operation Eardrop.
This advanced training integrated theoretical principles with rigorous practical applications, encompassing core subdisciplines such as acoustics, sound analysis, masking methodologies, psychoacoustics, speech audiometry, room acoustics, and the calibration of audiological instrumentation. By engaging in collaborative clinical exercises, participants acquired empirical proficiency in acoustic measurements, audiometric diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and standardized speech assessment protocols, thereby significantly advancing their technical competencies and clinical capabilities in audiology.
