Prof Griffith R Harsh appointed as honorary lecturer

Prof Griffith R Harsh who previously served as a professor of neurosurgery and also associate dean of CME education at Stanford University medical center has been appointed as honorary lecturer in neurosurgery unit in the department of surgery. The letter of appointment was handed to him during his visit to the department.

Prof. Griffith is certified in Neurolgical surgery by the America Board of Neurological Surgery. Prof Harsh has served as president of the American Academy of Neurological surgery and also as president of Neurological Society of America. 

UROLOGICAL SURGICAL CAMP IN VIHIGA AND KAKAMEGA

The Kenya Association of Urological Surgeons held a conference in Vihiga and Kakamega County.

The Surgical camp venues were Kakamega county General Teaching and referral hospitals, Vihiga County Referral Hospital, Malava Sub-county hospital, St Elizabeth mision hospital Mukumu,St Mary,s Hospital Mumias ,Oasis Multi-Specialty Hospital and Lumino nursing and Maternity Hospital  where surgeries were done.

CLITORAL RESTORATIVE SURGERY CHARITY CAMP

Department of Surgery plastic surgery unit in collaboration with Platinum Surgery Center organized CLITORAL RESTORATIVE SURGERY CHARITY CAMP to restore back dignity to girls and women who underwent FGM. During the camp about 50 ladies benefited.

The camp was held from 14th  to 18th Nov in Platinum Surgery Center led by Dr.Abullahi Adan and Dr.Marci Bower. Plastic surgery Mmed students followed the procedures through live transmission
