World Hearing Day - Wednesday 3rd March 2021

 

UoN Department of Surgery joins other stakeholders in March every year to highlight the danger posed by noise pollution a not-so-much talked about public health problem. The two champions from UoN Dept of Surgery involved in organizing World hearing Day activities are: Sarah N Ndegwa (Chairperson of World Hearing Day Organizing Committee) and Professor IM Macharia (World Hearing Day Organizing Committee member). 

The Nairobi County World Hearing Day team has organized the following activities to take place on Wednesday March 3, 2021:

  1. Outreach to the Jua Kali sheds in Kamukunji area.
  2. Release of the World report on hearing in a press briefing by the Director General of Health.
  3. Kenya Ear Nose and Throat Society (KENTS) Webinar on the 2021 World Report on Hearing.
  4. Media coverage - Television and Radio interviews.
