Strengthening Newborn Hearing Screening in Kenya

The Department of Surgery at University of Nairobi, in collaboration with the Hear Kenya Initiative and the Baker Institute for Children with Hearing Loss, successfully hosted a lecture focused on advancing newborn hearing screening in Kenya.

Participants engaged in expert presentations and a screening of the documentary Listen to Me!, which highlighted real-life experiences and reinforced the critical importance of early hearing screening in improving childhood developmental outcomes.

The forum emphasized the need for strong collaboration, supportive policies, and increased awareness to ensure that every child in Kenya has access to timely hearing screening and appropriate care.
