BRITAM partners with UoN Dept of Surgery

Britam a leading financial services group will spend over Kenya shillings one million in sprucing up of UoN Department of Surgery during Covid-19 pandemic closure.

This came about following a courtesy call by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Britam Dr Wairegi. The CEO on behalf of Britam offered to spruce up the department after a meeting with the chairman Dr Julius Kiboi.

Dr. Kebba completes MMed in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery

Dr. Naomi Kebba successfully completed her Master of Medicine (MMed) in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery from the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Kebba will be travelling back to Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) Mulago National Referral Hospital, where she works.

UoN, Oxford University, Nuffield Dept of Surgical Sciences Collaboration

Oxford University and The Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences conducted a Non-Technical Skills Course for University of Nairobi (UoN) Department of Surgery graduate students and staff from 9-11 December 2019. The course facilitators were Prof Ashok Handa and Dr Tony Jefferies. The two accompanied by Professor Pankaj Jani on Wednesday December 11, 2019 met the UoN College of Health Sciences (CHS) Principal Prof James Machoki and discussed plans for formalizing collaboration between the three institutions.

Prof. Ndaguatha in India for advanced kidney stone management workshop

Former Chair of the Department of Surgery Peter L. W. Ndaguatha was in a seminar and workshop on advanced kidney stone management on 10th September, 2019.

The conference and workshop was well attended by world renowned experts in this field.

The event was held in Hyderabad India where Prof. Ndaguatha explored areas of collaboration between Department of Surgery and various urological institutes in India.
