(Lecture theatre III)
In keeping with the tradition of the parent association of cardiovascular workers, PASCAR, the meeting will take place over a weekend to disrupt as little as possible the work week of busy cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons.
Theme for this year is “Trauma Care in Cardio vascular and Thoracic Surgery in Africa”. This theme will give the delegates an opportunity to reflect on the African trauma epidemic in the context of cardiothoracic and vascular injury, what our role is and how we may prevent and improve cardiothoracic and vascular trauma care.
This year’s conference will be held as a paperless meeting, the first of its kind for the Association. All required documentation will be uploaded on this as well as the Africa Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons website. Delegates are advised to download conference brochure, programme and other documents and carry their electronic devises.
Expected outcome of the conference is a wider understanding among delegates of the challenges of cardiovascular trauma in the region a combined effort to control the trauma scourge.
